Free Members Ads on the Handmade Artists' Forum

Sat May 30, 2009, 6:15 PM
The Handmade Artists' Forum support our participating members by giving free advertising. All our members who submit an ad to this thread get put into a daily rotation on the forum as well as this blog. The ads are also placed on the members shops page of this blog and displayed 24/7.
You may ask why do we do this for our members shops for free? Well I'll tell you from one struggling artist to another, it's tough out there. With the economy still on the downward slide, hoping it's going to turn around soon, and big business with their massed produced wares it's tough for the small time handmade artist to compete. so this free advertising has given the participating member actual results. We are getting reports from some of our members who use google analytics that their page views are increasing and one of our members just got their first sale!
Unfortunately with everything needing to be bigger, better, and faster I feel some people have lost respect for the handmade artist. Making our creations by hand takes time, we can't sell stuff to compete with mass produced items, first when we make something it's usually one of a kind, not 5,000 of a kind. So recreating our works to compete with robots and outsourcing is impossible. Second we can't compete with big business for advertising, they spend millions to our dollars. I can go on and on, but that are a couple of reasons why the handmade astists' forum.
The Forum is a community of a variety of artists from jewelers to crafters to painters, to potters, and more who have banned together to support each other so that we can be more competitive. We give and share ideas with each other and build each other up when we are down. So stop by say hi and become a part of our growing community and most of all support handmade!

Enjoy,
Andrew and Kimberly
